Audi A8 - is a successor of Audi V8. Much of its technical components were also used in Volkswagen Phaeton. Audi V8 became the first independent executive class model of Audi. Despite of new technically design, it was based on the Audi 100 platform. Appeared only in mid-1994 family of models Audi A8 were truly unique in the executive class. It also was the world's first car with aluminum body for stock car executive class.
